Have you already realized that you might be stuck between borders, not being able to reach across oceans and on what is going on beyond them, or even imagined yourself losing opportunities to know wonderful people, wonderful places and so on?
I Always had an interest in English language. Since elementary school when I experienced it for the first time, but it’s not far away when I was truly concerned about the importance of being able to speak this universal language. Believe it or not, it was in the time off, in that kind of activities you usually do for fun, when I realized that I would like to learn English by heart. As a child, I used to watch subtitled movies that my brother recorded on cassette tapes, then a few years passed and as a teenager I started to listen to music in English. These habits would accompany me for the rest of my life until I decided to put more effort in this apprenticeship, perceiving the opportunities that the language could bring to me, like traveling or even the possibility to use English in my own job which has been great.
This was a necessary process in my life, otherwise I would probably have seen myself getting stuck in a “world“ with people that never thought about how worthy and rewarding it is to look beyond the place we stand.
I’m not diminishing our country, our culture which is vast, or our music, our people, but I’m afraid that we should use our potential and our desires to look over and to be pleased about what this whole world can offer to us if we are just audacious to step out of our comfort zone and explore new challenges, new countries, new landscapes, new cultures, new foods, meet new people and so on. This is a great goal to pursue. There are a lot of people who have experienced this in their lives and they say that this was the best prize they got. Learn english, enjoy the world!
